Fabric requirements
Knit fabric 140 cm/55” wide
1.4–2.5 m/1.5–2.7 yards
Suggested fabrics
- Medium to heavy knit fabrics, such as Ponte di Roma, Milano, Courtelle jersey, French terry, heavy jersey, felted wool jersey and cotton velour are ideal for sewing the Vide Pants.
- Choose a knit with at least 20% stretch crosswise and moderate to minimal stretch lengthwise.
- Pocket lining: Soft lightweight jersey (use scraps or an old t-shirt).
Additional supplies
- 5 cm (2") wide elastic, cotton jersey for pocket lining and lightweight stretch interfacing.
Sewing level
Beginner to intermediate, ideally with some prior experience sewing with knits. The instructions have many beginner-friendly tips and if you've never sewn pants before this is a good starter pattern.
A serger is helpful, but the Vide pants can also be sewn on a regular sewing machine.

The Vide Pants is a PDF pattern with a print-at-home A4/Letter format, a Copyshop/A0 file and projector files. The sizing is layered, with the option to only print one size.
The pattern also comes with clear, illustrated step-by-step instructions with many bonus tips for sewing with knits.
